The original Tipple Glasshouse
Includes a tree-sized barrel container with galvanised metal bands, shelving & hi impact PET windows.
Suitable for growing edibles such as tomatoes, salad crops and vegetables in otherwise poor conditions.
Constructed of high grade, long lasting, birch ply and painted in 'Ayrshire Cream'.
The barrel is bound with galvanised metal bands for extra strength & drilled for drainage allowing it to be filled with compost.
The 'glass' supplied is 3mm 'PET' (Polyethylene Terephthalate), a very high impact material, making it suitable for domestic use where safety is an issue.
It has excellent chemical resistance, is not affected by the majority of weedkillers or feeds, is glass clear, UV stable and has been used in the Eden Project in Cornwall for these reasons. PET is one of the most recycled plastics in the world.
Within the base is a movable half-moon slatted shelf to allow pots or seed trays to drain. There are two further small shelves above which curve around the middle band giving further space for pots. Ventilation is provided through rotating flaps in the roof and door latches below which can be fixed in a variety of positions depending on weather conditions.

Please do consider any gates or doorways that the glasshouse may need to be taken through before purchasing in order to avoid problems of positioning. The glasshouse comes fully assembled but does contain instructions on how to easily remove the roof, then glasshouse body from its container base. The base is a large size tree-tipple container.
